Do keep in mind that due to the limitation of HDMI 1.4 standard you wont get more than 30fps on this TV, so no 4k gaming on this bad boy. Having said that, I have my gaming HTPC and a PS4 connected to it at 1080p setting and the picture looks great and the action moves fast, no ghosting. Same for sports. World Cup and NBA finals looked great on it. The colors pop and the picture is very sharp. Shows like Game of Thrones look great on it as well. I believe that the picture on this set looks sharper then on the rest of regular 1080p sets due to its upscaller to 2k resolution. I am not a professional TV reviewer, but the blacks looked good and the brightness was nice. There are a LOT of built in settings including the game mode and dynamic modes, but I normally leave it at standard mode. You can customize every element of the picture yourself though.
Now for negatives: its a large panel to light up with only an edge lit system (no local dimming). There is slight light bleed from one of the corners of the screen. Its visible in dark scenes, but doesn't bother me much to a point I want to lug a 120 pound TV back to the store.

I was used to passive 3D and think its a more comfortable way to watch 3D vs the active system that this TV has (glasses are not included). I did pick up a set of 4 glasses and we watched Avatar and How to train your dragon and a few others. Overall, the 3D quality is fine although I wish it was a tad brighter (but then that is what the UQ models are for). The viewing angels on this TV are not super great, but again there wont be too many situations where you will need to look at a 70 inch TV at sharp angles...
Overall, I recommend this TV to anyone looking for a quality large size screen with 3D capability. Sharp is one of the oldest Japanese TV manufacturers (older than Sony) and they do specialize in building large screens with nice features for cheaper than competition. 10 bit panel (most competitors use 8 bit panels), true 240 refresh rate, and Q+ technology make it a winner. Great TV for the next couple of years until true 4k TVs become more affordable and feature complete.
